Most memorable Summit field trip

To the City Landfill and Waste Management. We see first hand the importance of - REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. Our young Jr. K. citizens have taken a lead role in collecting for Terra Cycle brigades, and are learning that they can have an impact on the future of our planet. We also love taking the children to All a Flutter, the butterfly farm - it's magical!

I knew I wanted to work at Summit when

My two daughters attended Summit before I became a teacher and I could see the special learning environment that exists here. Our faculty is the most generous and passionate group of people I've ever worked with. This is progressive education at its best.

My favorite project students are working on this year

Mindfulness! Little ones experience stress, too, and it's important to learn ways to manage it. Our four and five year olds practice breathing exercises every day. We sit on our zafus (cushions) and send love and/or healing waves to people who might need them!

One thing I want all my students to know when they leave my classroom

They have the power to change the "three feet around them" and that's the way we begin to change the world. One moment at a time, one kindness at a time.
