The Eagles met their match this afternoon, facing off against North Davie for the second time in three days. The girls played with determination, finding themselves down two players by the half and only one sub. Despite the lack of scoring, Olivia continued to push the ball up, getting off several strong shots. Similarly, Amory played with passion, moving the ball forward and taking several shots on goal. Defensively, Kate played another outstanding game in goal, giving up only one amidst a flurry of shots. And Emma P. put forth another determined and impressive effort at center back, pestering their forwards and keeping the ball from the goal. Despite a 0-1 loss, they played a solid game worthy of ending the season.

The Eagles soared in their penultimate match of the year, winning 1-0 against N. Davie. All the girls played good, solid, aggressive soccer. Throughout both halves, Olivia, Virginia, Poppy, and Ann Cooper attacked the goal with a flurry of shots. But it wasn’t until the 45th minute that Grace scored the winning goal, her first in her Summit career! Defensively, Emma and Sydney bolstered the backfield, supported by Campbell, Katie, Eva, and Whitten. And Kate played a stellar game in goal as she stopped several strong, last minute shots. We face off again with N. Davie Thursday to end the season - it should be great!
The Eagles played tough today against Forsyth Country Day School. Faced with a small bench and few subs, as well as gale force winds, they came out strong holding FCDS to a 0-0 first half. Olivia has several strong shots on goal and both Poppy and Virginia played with vigor up front. Kate once again stepped into goal, and both Katie and Eva played with poise, determination, and thought in the back. Unfortunately, the second half saw the girls playing against the wind with tired legs, and FCDS slipped 3 goals in our goal. With only one week left in the season, the girls are eager for some goals!
The Eagles faced off against South Davie Middle School, a tough and experienced opponent. The girls played an excellent game, especially the first half, in which Olivia scored the team's sole goal. Emma R., Amory, Ann Cooper, and Virginia all played well at midfield and striker, as did Katie, Whitten, Emma P., and Sydney on defense. And special thanks to Kate for stepping in to play goal for the first time all season; she did an excellent job. We face off against Forsyth Country Day away on Friday; it should be a great game.
