Summit Eagles played a tough match against the FCDS Furies at the WFU Tennis Center. While everyone gave their best effort, we lost with a close score of 4-5. Everyone played an awesome match with most players being incredibly matched. Some of the highlights were Tejus at #1 finishing 8-0, Evan winning a really tight match 8-6, and John coming back from 2-7 to finish the match out 7-9. In doubles our teams were Tejus and Evan winning 8-1, Bouldin and John winning 8-5, and a close match from Mark And Marshall with 4-8. Sidney, Max, Charlie, And Devon all pulled out a win for their exhibition matches. All in all it was a tough loss but some really great tennis was played by each player.
Summit improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-3 win over Canterbury at the Wake Forest Tennis center. Summit swept singles play 6-0 and got everyone on the roster involved in doubles matches. Although the team came up short in doubles, the team gained valuable experience for future play. Great job Eagles!
Summit traveled to Wesleyan Tuesday and won a close match 5-4. Tejus and Evan won #1 and #2 singles and then teamed up to win #1 doubles. Alex also won #6 singles and Sydney and Mark won in #3 doubles to pull out the match. Congrats to John, Marshall, Bouldin for competing hard and coming up just short in their matches. The team improves to 2-0 and returns to action Wednesday.
Boys tennis had their first match of the season and had a big win with a score of 6-3! We are so proud of the way each player fought and played today. We started off the match strong with all 6 of our singles players pulling out wins. Tejus at number 1 won 8-0, Evan at 2 had a tight 8-6 win, John at number 3 won 8-4, Marshall at 4 and Bouldin at 5 both won 8-1, and Alex at 6 pulled out a really hard fought win 9-7. Our doubles teams then were Marshall and Mark at 1, Sidney and Jack at 2, and Devon and Max in the 3 spot. Unfortunately, after all 3 being tough matches, they all lost. Regardless of the score, the boys played great and fought hard for every shot and point. We loved the grit that we saw from every player on the court today and are looking forward to the rest of the season.
