VG Soccer lost 1-0 at home against Reynolds. Caroline had stellar saves in goal, and Sophie and Mary Claire had countless stops for the defense. Maddie and Ellie controlled the center of the field, and exemplified the team’s core values of heart and hustle. The Eagles take on Southwest Guilford Thursday night.

The Eagles lost 2-0 against a deep and talented Canterbury squad Wednesday afternoon. Even though Canterbury dominated possession, the Summit defense came up big highlighted by amazing saves in goal by Caroline. Sophie, Mary Claire, Lily, and Ellie battled in the center of the field and had fantastic and spirited play. Mary Douglas played a great game as a wide defender. The Eagles return to action Monday vs RJR.

VG Soccer won 4-0 against Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon. Angelina scored three goals, one unassisted, and two off of beautiful passes from Ellie and Lily. Victoria St. also scored after making a determined run down the right side of the field. Sophie and Mary Claire played excellent defense and prevented Wesleyan from shooting.

Varsity Girls’ Soccer won 6-0 against Greensboro Day School. Ellie had one goal assisted by Effie, and Ellie assisted two more goals. Maddie scored twice and created several scoring opportunities for the Eagles. Angelina and Sophie scored unassisted goals in the second half to solidify the team’s win.

VG Soccer lost 1-0 in the last three minutes, but the girls put up a ferocious fight to start off the season. Ellie, Maddie, Mary Claire and Sophie held down the center of the field, and Caroline had key saves in goal. The forwards, including Angelina, Charlotte, and Victoria, created several close opportunities for the Eagles.
