COVID-19 Operations Plan
COVID Community Commitment
Summit School is committed to balancing the need to provide a safe school environment with students' developmental needs to socialize and engage in a love of learning. We are committed to implementing health and safety precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our school community while prioritizing the safety of our teachers, as well.
Summit School’s approach and best practices have been shaped by:
-
the school’s mission to provide a challenging curriculum within a caring environment to help students develop their full potential;
-
the lessons learned during the schools emergency response to COVID-19 in spring 2020 and during the 2020–2021 school year;
-
conversations with local and national health experts, industry groups such as the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and health agencies such as the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Forsyth County Department of Health, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, CDC guidances, mayoral guidelines, and governor recommendations will inform the policies our Medical Advisory team establishes.
