Ways to Give
Online Giving
Charitable gifts provide resources that help Summit fulfill its mission and keep our programs accessible to a wide range of families.
Generous donations from parents, alumni, grandparents, past parents, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations support The Summit Fund (unrestricted gifts) and build the endowment and facilities.
As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, all gifts are tax-exempt.
Thank you for supporting Summit School.
If you need additional information, please contact Jeanne Sayers, Director of Development, jsayers@summitmail.org or 336-724-5811.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities provide significant tax savings for the donor by avoiding capital gains tax. Such gifts are also tax deductible at the fair market value on the date of the gift.
To avoid paying tax on the profit, you must give the security itself, rather than selling it first, then giving the proceeds.
To give a security, you may:
- Send to Summit by certified mail a signed stock certificate(s) or a stock power to cover the certificate(s) and a letter of authorization allowing the shares to be deposited in the Summit School account. If your gift comprises only part of a certificate, indicate in the letter of authorization how remaining shares should be handled.
- Transfer the security electronically. Instructions are below.
Electronic Transfer Instructions
To transfer securities electronically to The Summit School Inc. please contact Jeanne Sayers, Director of Development, at 336-724-5811 or jsayers@summitmail.org.

Gifts of Cash
Patrons for Tomorrow
The Patrons for Tomorrow club recognizes past parents, grandparents, alumni, parents and friends who have demonstrated their commitment to Summit's future by establishing planned gifts or including Summit as a charitable recipient of their bequests.
The size of a charitable bequest is not important. What matters is thoughtful planning which will leave a legacy for future Summit students. Summit does not require donors to share specifics of planned gifts or bequests. However, many donors choose to let the School know details of their plans and this information is helpful for long range planning purposes. All information is kept strictly confidential.
Summit appreciates the people who have included Summit in their estate plans. Their thoughtfulness ensures that Summit will remain strong for generations to come. Everyone is invited to join, at any time.
