New Donors
Thank you to the following donors who made Summit a philanthropic priority for the first time this year. We hope to earn your loyal support through the impact your Summit Fund, endowment, and/or capital gifts make on inspiring learning at Summit School.
Capital and Endowment Gifts
Named Endowment Funds
Summit’s endowment funds, established in 1959, have grown to more than $15.2 million and generate $760,000 annually for the operating budget. Gifts to the endowment enable Summit to respond quickly to needs and allow the school to be innovative.
The Board’s policy is to spend 5% of a three year rolling average of the value of the endowment for operations.
Each of the following funds supports the area under which it is listed. The year following the fund name indicates the year in which it was established.
For full descriptions of each of the named endowment funds, please visit www.summitschool.com/funds
Donor names are listed under any new gifts to specific funds.
Patrons for Tomorrow
Planned charitable gifts allow alumni, current and former parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, and other Summit friends to leave a lasting legacy at Summit School. Summit’s mission is made possible by thoughtful, engaged leaders, including our Patrons for Tomorrow listed here, who demonstrate their commitment to Summit’s future with a planned gift.
Lunch with Henry Winkler
On September 9, 2020, Triad Academy at Summit School hosted Lunch with Henry Winkler, featuring speeches by noted actor, writer, producer, director, author, and dyslexia advocate Henry Winkler, and former Triad Academy division student and Summit graduate Jessica Branch ’19.
The virtual event raised more than $125,000 for financial aid to benefit current and future students with dyslexia who need a Triad Academy education.
Our students and school community are grateful to our generous supporters!
