They are present from a child's earliest days in Early Childhood through the studios and performance spaces of Upper School. Music, visual art, theatre, design, broadcasting, and tinkering are woven into the fabric of Summit life because we believe that making, performing, and creating are among the most essential ways children learn to think, communicate, and discover who they are.

Across every division, our arts programs share a common philosophy: joy is the process, and confidence is the goal. Students who learn to take a creative risk — to put something they made in front of an audience, to build something with their hands, to find their voice — carry that capacity with them into every other area of their lives. The arts at Summit provide an essential place where students discover what they are capable of.

From a Kindergartner performing in her first Spring Sing to an Upper Schooler producing a podcast for a real audience, Summit students experience the arts as participants, not observers. The arc from joyful discovery to genuine creative ownership is one of the most distinctive things about a Summit education.
