Eighth graders have been composing stories for the Early Years
section of their autobiography project and using the VoiceThread program to share
them with one another. "This technology has been a great tool for
having students read their work aloud without feeling the pressure of a
live audience," says eighth grade English teacher Betsy McNeer. Students can practice enunciation and pause for emphasis
in a story they "attach" to a photograph that they have scanned and uploaded.
After each student recorded a VoiceThread, they commented on their
classmates' work.
