How to Apply
1. Inquiry: Prospective parents may request an Information Packet by telephone (336.724.5811), email (kmemory@summitmail.org), or through the website (request information). We will acknowledge the receipt of all inquiries.
2. Parent Visit: We ask all parents to make an appointment to visit the school. This is a required part of the admissions process. For those interested in the Lower School (JrK - grade 5), we recommend that parents visit the school without the child. During the Parent Visit, you will have an individual meeting with the Director of Admissions or the Admissions Assistant. This is your chance to tell us about your child and to ask any specific questions about our program or particular areas of interest.
3. Cut-Off Date: Applicants for Junior Kindergarten should turn four by July 1 of the year they would enter. Applicants for Kindergarten should turn five by July 1 of the year they would enter.
4. Application: A complete admissions file consists of an Application, a $75 Application Fee, a Parent Questionnaire, a Teacher Observation Form, and (for grades 1-8) a copy of School Records.
5. Student Visit: Once an applicant's file is complete, we will review the file and invite some applicants for a Student Visit. Applicants for Junior Kindergarten visit with their parents in small groups. All other applicants visit in the classroom for a full day at their current grade level. Typically, we do not test for admission. However, in some cases, an informal assessment may be necessary to determine the appropriate placement.
6. Decision: Following the Student Visit, we will notify the family of our decision and provide parents with enrollment contracts.
