Sustainability

The Summit community strives to meet our current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. By creating an environment in which we use resources efficiently and model sustainable behavior, we show that it is possible in our daily operations to balance the needs of our community, economy, and the natural systems of the planet. Among Summit’s many green efforts are:

• A schoolwide recycling program

• Four new, energy-efficient buildings

• “Think Green” Upper School Activity

• Solar powered computers in the library

• Walk/Bike to school program

• Well-maintained gardens and green spaces throughout the campus

• Programs to reduce paper and plastic use
