A native of St. Louis, Dr. Michael Ebeling most recently served as the Head of Lower School at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School, one of the country’s pre-eminent K-12 independent day schools. He also served as the Head of Middle School at Lake Ridge Academy outside of Cleveland, and was an instructor at Lake Forest Country Day School outside of Chicago. He received his B.A. degree in English and Education from Lake Forest College. At the University of Virginia, he received an M.A. in English and a Ph.D. in English Education. In addition to his strong academic grounding, Michael has demonstrated throughout his career an innovative and effective leadership style and a true love of children and the learning process. His work in faculty and curriculum development has been particularly impressive. An extraordinarily bright, visionary leader, Michael is the right person to lead Summit at this exciting time in the school’s history. He understands Summit, shares its values, and will be an energetic and engaging leader of our school.
